Morzine in Summer
Morzine in summer is a hotbed of activity, from mountain biking to wakeboarding and horse riding.
The Lifts
The Portes du Soleil lift system is the largest linked area in Europe to open during the summer. This makes it a Mecca for mountain biking; the Mountain Biking World Cup has been held in Morzine more than once. The Tour de France usually passes through Morzine.
That's not all you might want to use the lifts for though, hill walkers can enjoy the view from their travels at 2000m. It also allows you up to the activities in Avoriaz including the nine hole golf course. If you're looking for a bit of adrenaline, then you might want to get the lift over to the Fantasticable in the Chatel sector. Check out a selection of the other activities available here.
The Town and Area
In addition to the more extreme sports, summer in Morzine also offers a more tranquil experience for those looking for a more relaxing holiday. Hill walking and hiking are popular, and the area is well serviced for golf. The town itself has two outdoor swimming pools, one of which is Olympic size. There are also tennis courts and a skate park. You can also check out the wide variety of shops and a weekly market on Wednesdays.
